Peter Fitzpatrick and other Conrad Hall of Fame Inductees
This past Saturday October 29, 2011 P.J. Fitzpatrick CEO and Founder Pete Fitzpatrick was inducted into Conrad High School’s Hall of Fame for being an outstanding member of the community.
Pete graduated from Conrad back in 1967. He attended college at the University of Delaware, while serving in the Air National Guard Reserves. He graduated from the University of Delaware in 1970.
Pete would go on to start up P.J. Fitzpatrick Inc. in 1980 to to install residential roofing, siding and windows. He did so out of his home on Troy Avenue, barely a few blocks away from Conrad. He quickly distinguished himself as a businessman who put customer service first in an industry where that was not always the norm.
The first official location Pete moved the business into was 113 Stanton Rd. across from Kaimensi Gardens in New Castle County, DE. In 1994 he moved the business to a larger location with a showroom, just off I-95. In 2003 he moved to our current location at 21 Industrial Blvd. in New Castle. During that same year he acquired Kelly’s Windows and Doors, which would enable him to become the largest home re-modeler in the area.
Through the business Pete has was won any number of awards and recognitions over the years, including being a regular recipient of the New’s Journal Reader’s Choice Award, he has received the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for customer service, and also he has been recognized by Habitat for Humanity as one of the largest contributors to their organization in the area. Pete has always been a silent contributor to many charities, and some of the major improvements to Conrad’s sports facilities were from his donations. The school’s scoreboard, gym floor, and the materials for refurbishing the press box and outdoor concession stand were all results of not only donations by Pete, but also his ability to coordinate assistance as a result of his relationship with vendors like Shone Lumber and J & L.
In his personal life Pete is known to be a loving husband and father, recently celebrating 20 years of his marriage to his wife Marie. He has been an avid sports fan all his life, and enjoys playing golf whenever he can in his spare time.
Pete we are all very proud of what you have accomplished, and our very happy to see you receive the recognition you deserve. Congratulations on your induction into Conrad’s Hall of Fame!
