Hurricane Season Isn’t Over Yet

Posted on September 11, 2013 in Seasonal Home Tips

Back in June, hurricane experts predicted an extremely active and above-normal hurricane season and …so far, they’ve been wrong.  Between seven and 11 hurricanes were predicted and at the halfway point in the June to December hurricane season there has not been a single hurricane. So far.

That’s great news for those of us who are still not 100 percent recovered from Sandy last fall or who have simply been putting off necessary repairs of any size.

But it’s important to remember that while there haven’t been any major storms yet, we’re still only halfway through hurricane season and still have three months to go. The peak months for hurricanes are mid-August through late October so we’re not out of the water as of yet, so to speak. In fact, AccuWeather hurricane expert Dan Kottlowski says, “Hurricane formation in the Atlantic is overdue and is soon likely to shift in favor of multiple tropical systems.”  It’s not a matter of “if” the storms will form; it’s a matter of “when” and “where” at this point.

It’s time to stop putting off those repairs that will ensure your home will weather the coming storms without sustaining further damage.

The good news is that PJ Fitzpatrick can help.  Our fully trained, full-time repair department performed over 13,000 repairs for homeowners in the Delaware Valley in 2012 alone.  There’s nothing to worry about with a PJ Fitzpatrick repair because our repairmen focus on only one thing: repairs.
